School Bus Involved in Accident

The Zanesville Highway Patrol says no one was hurt in a West Muskingum School bus accident this morning, Troopers say it happened just after 8:00 on U.S. 40 near Shagbark Road. Trooper Troy Hale says the bus was stopped with its flashing red lights on, when a dump truck driven by 75-year-old John Harris of Philo slammed into the back of the bus forcing it off the right side of the road. There was one student on the bus at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported. Harris was cited by the patrol for not having assured clear distance.
