Scrap Metal Drive in Zanesville
As the weather warms and you begin to clean up around your home, you may have some items that could be donated to help out an area group.
Boy Scout Troop 128 of Zanesville is hosting a scrap metal drive March 19th through April 4th to help raise funds to send its members to summer camp in June.
"Summer camp is a great time for them to earn merit badges especially the boys who are shooting for their eagle, it’s really tough to make eagle without going to summer camp," said Scoutmaster Kevin Pinson.
Any type of scrap metal will be accepted. Pinson said that boy scouts not only offer fun outdoor activities, but also teaches youth about character and values.
"If we took every 14-year-old and put them through the scouting program, we’d have to close half the prisons in this country in the next 20 years," he said.
A dumpster will be located at Robertson Heating Supply on the corner of Underwood and Zane Streets. If you are unable to drop off any items, the group can come to your home to pick them up.
