ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Christ’s Table, The Carr Center, Habitat for Humanity, The Animal Shelter Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Eastside Community Ministries came together as the Working Wonder Women to put on a seafood social at Weatherington Woods.

The seafood social’s goal is to help raise funds for local law enforcement agencies. They hope to raise around $20,000 which will be donated to Zanesville City Police, The Sheriff’s Department, and then the six township police departments. The funding will be available for use and their own discretion.

“We were able to put this Seafood Social together for our law enforcement. We believe right now, it’s a tough time for those law enforcement people out there. And we wanted to step up and speak out and say ‘We’re supporting them, we’re praying for them’ and we wanted to do a little bit of fundraiser. So that’s why we’re here this evening,” Keely Warden, executive director for Christ’s Table stated.

This seafood social is the first fundraiser of its kind put on by the Working Wonder Women -a group formed by six women in Muskingum County operating non-profits, and they hope to make it an annual tradition to support a variety of local government agencies. It took a lot of coordination and support for the event to happen, and the WWW couldn’t help but show their appreciation.

“We just want to thank; everyone in the community for supporting this event, not only the individuals who bought tickets -but those corporate sponsors who bought an entire table, our local law enforcement agencies who sent officers to enjoy this evening with us, and then also we want to thank Weatherington Woods. What a beautiful venue this is, and just so generous. And they have been some helpful in planning this event,” Becky Clawson, executive director of The Carr Center stated.
