Second Annual Zanesville Survivor Challenge in August

Survivor Challenge

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Now is your chance to participate in the ultimate team challenge competition, all for a good cause.

The second annual Zanesville Survivor Challenge is on Friday, August 16th. The Survivor Challenge allows teams of 4 to 6 competitors the chance to tackle a course consisting of a 10 foot wall, archery, monkey bridge, cross cut log, hatchet throw, and fire building.

“We’ve changed up some of the events. Last year was a climbing wall, this year it’s just a 10 foot wall to get over. We added the monkey bridge this year. We got rid of a couple events from last year. Just trying to mix it up, keep it exciting for the contestants,” said Executive Director of Muskingum Valley Council, BSA, Ed Mulholland.

All participants must be 14 and older to sign up. And the winning team members will receive a name engraved on the traveling trophy. The proceeds from the Survivor Challenge benefits the Muskingum Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America.

“It’s a fundraiser for scouting. And thanks to great sponsors like Huntington’s our lead sponsor and other sponsors, it’ll make some money for us to help support scouts and get them to camp. Keep camp affordable that kind of thing. We also wanted to do scouting kind of things, let the participant feel what it’s like to be a scout,” Mulholland added.

The Survivor Challenge will take place at the Scouting Resource Center on Moorehead Avenue from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost of a team is $200. If you would like to sign up, just register your team online at the Zanesville Survivor Challenge website, www.zanesvillesurvivorchallenge.com.
