ZANESVILLE, Ohio - Zanesville Police responded to the 1600 block of South State St. shortly after 9 p.m. last night after a semi truck rolled into a house.

Chief, Kenneth Miller, said the driver, Hubert Asbury, noticed an issue with his truck. He then exited, but forgot to secure the vehicle.

“When we got there we learned that the driver leaving the factory right there noticed a problem with the semi, and pulled over to stop. He exited the vehicle, did not secure it, and it rolled down the hill from that location,” said Miller.

There were no serious injuries, but Daniel Norris, who lives in the house, said it shook him up.

“The truck hit the TV stand, and the TV stand went into the coffee table, and the coffee table hit me and knocked me to the floor. It scared me to death,” said Norris.

The driver was cited for an unattended vehicle. The Red Cross put Norris into a motel last night, but he was given the okay to move back into his home today.
