Sen. Bernie Moreno meets with local leaders on economic development

CAMBRIDGE, OH- Business and community leaders met in Cambridge this afternoon with senior United States senator Bernie Moreno to talk about economic needs in the region.
The roundtable was put together to share concerns and ideas for improving life in Eastern and Southeastern Ohio.
“We’re here in Cambridge to listen firsthand from county commissioners, township trustees, mayors, to understand, what do you need from the federal government, how can we help deliver better and more efficient services to the people out here in Eastern and Southeastern Ohio,” said Moreno.
The group talked about access to internet, agriculture, water, healthcare, and other basic services. Local officials said more support is needed to help smaller communities grow.
“It’s important that we elevate this portion of Ohio, there’s enormous opportunity between energy resources, what we can do with good jobs, bringing that opportunity here,” said Moreno.
The meeting lasted about an hour and was held at the government complex in Downtown Cambridge.
