SEOSO to Perform at Brown Chapel
ZANESVILLE, OH – The SouthEastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra is preparing to take a trip down memory lane.
SEOSO will be performing at Brown Chapel, at Muskingum University, on Sunday, March 23rd at 3:30PM.
Dr. Laura Schumann, the Music Director and Conductor, said they will perform selections from previous concerts over the years.
“We’re doing “Stars and Stripes”, now I’m not seeing us have the participation in this particular concert, but we’re doing a wonderful march,” Dr. Schumann explained. “We’re doing music from shows we’ve done in the past, for example, we’ve done Broadway show music, so “ The Greatest Showman” and we’ve done movie music, so of course “007, James Bond” and there may be, go figure, this might surprise you about me, but there may be some theatrics going on with James Bond.”
She said they will also perform a special piece that she wrote that merges Mozart with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” as well as Mozart’s G Minor Symphony.
There will also be a special guest joining them on piano for the concert.
“And Harasha Abeyaratne is going to join us on the piano, he’s going to play the second movement of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto,” Schumann said. “It is the Eric Carmen “All By Myself” song, so if you’ve heard that song, and I bet everybody has, and if you didn’t know where it came from, that’s exactly where it came from so we will be performing that.”
Dr. Schumann has also announced that this will be her final concert at Brown Chapel. Tickets for the concert are $20 and can be purchased at the door or by heading to seoso.org.
