Sharon Lynne Corbin, 72, of Philo, passed away 8:47 am Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at
her residence.
Sharon was born March 22, 1939 Little Chicago, IN. the daughter of the late
Lester Lynne Gillespie and Hilda Leo Pickens. She was the most loving, caring
wife, mother, grandmother, nurse and friend anyone could have had. She had a
deep unwavering faith in God through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She
enjoyed reading sewing and painting and was always ready to help anyone in need.
She was a peacemaker and she will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She earned an AAS degree in nursing from LCCC Elyria, OH in 1978 and she was a
registered nurse for 33 years.
She is survived by her loving husband William D. Corbin, whom she married
December 22, 1982; her six children Michele (Sjerrie) (Thorn) Heinsma of The
Netherlands, Juanita Corbin of FL, William E. (Glenda) Thorn of Wellington,
Sheldon Scott Thorn of Glendale, Tammara (Doyle) (Thorn) Harbaugh of Wakeman and
William D Corbin jr. of Parkersburg; a brother Lester Lynne Gillespie of
Elizabethtown, KY; her grandchildren Robert, Nicole, Ineke, Andy, Betsy and
Michael; her Great Grandchildren Brian, Gavin, Sebastian, Liala and Mia and she
was joyfully anticipating the arrival of another great grandchild in October.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her three sons
Michael David Thorn, Howard Dean Corbin and James Milton Corbin and a brother
David Hill Gillespie.
Visitations will be 6 to 8pm Thursday and 11 to 1 pm Friday at the
Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be 1 pm
with Pastor Larry Nocella and Pastor Bill Kopas officiating. Burial will follow
in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
