Shirley S. Wells

Shirley S. Wells, 78 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 21, 2022 at her residence.

She was born on April 26, 1944, daughter of the late Walter H. Spicer and Viola Hewitt. She worked for the Corps of Engineers as a Contract Negotiator.

Shirley was married to the love of her life, Jerry Lee Wells for 60 years; had two daughters, Rebecca Wells and Kimberly Wright. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Tabetha Fitts, Robert Pendragon, and Thomas Wright; 4 great-grandchildren, Izabella, Jackson, Emmett, and Harper. She worked for the Corps of Engineers as a Contract Negotiator. Later, Shirley was able to travel all over the world with her loving husband after they retired from Alaska. She led a wonderful life. She’s been a positive and steady influence in her grandchildren’s lives. She was always known to be kind, gentle, and very positive. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine, Genevie, Betty, Mary Ann, and Rosemary.

Per Shirley’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A caring cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in honor of Shirley.
