Philo, Ohio- A shooting in Philo Wednesday morning remains under investigation by the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. at 6820 Wentworth Drive in Philo. Two male individuals were wounded by gun shots. Sheriff Matt Lutz said there was a second location for the incident where authorities stopped a vehicle involved.

“Responding units were on the way down, we had a suspect vehicle of a silver Impala that left the scene. We found this vehicle traveling north towards the city of Zanesville. We did get this vehicle stopped and one of the victims from the shooting was in this vehicle traveling to the hospital,” said Sheriff Lutz.

The vehicle was detained on Old River Road and a squad transported the victim to the hospital. Sheriff Lutz said that both individuals were classified as victims because it had not yet been determined what the cause of the shooting was.

“We believe that these two are the only people involved in the shooting, so when you start talking about victim and suspect you get into self defense you get into who shot who first and different things,” said Sheriff Lutz. “Right now they’re both victims because they both have gun shot wounds.”

The current condition of the two individuals involved is unknown and the incident remains under investigation.
