ZANESVILLE, Ohio- You may want to rethink before you reach for your favorite snack or drink.

Experts said if snacks and drinks came labeled with how long you must exercise to burn those calories, it would help people healthier choices.

“If you wanted to have a can of pop you would do 26 minutes of walking and 13 minutes in a run. And also let’s just say your favorite is cheese pizza, you have to do 1 hour and 23 minutes of walking for about 2 slices of cheese pizza,” said Muskingum Recreation Center Event and Program Manager Becky Weir.

Weir said if you are trying to lose weight, it’s important to be more conscious of your calorie intake.

“Those famous cinnamon rolls that you love, one little small you would have to do about an hour and a half of walking to burn that 420 calories. That’s about the number of calories that you would want to in a breakfast. And you can eat a lot more food if you pick healthier choices,” said Weir.

Experts said by lower your calorie intake and increasing your activity, you will be to lose more weight.
