Simultaneous Honda Civic Rollover Crashes on State Route 669

Troopers are investigating after two vehicles were involved in simultaneous rollover crashes on a Perry County road Wednesday night, though they didn’t collide.

It happened on State Route 669, just west of State Route 345, around 7:15 p.m.

According to Trooper R.J. Wilson,  Erik Rohr and Gerald David Dorsey were each driving a Honda Civic eastbound on State Route 669.

"Both drivers admitted to 70 to 75 miles-per-hour. The vehicles came around a short curve, drove left-of-center, over corrected, and went off the south side of the roadway," says Wilson.

Both vehicles rolled. Rohr’s vehicle landed 200 feet from the roadway and Dorsey’s more than 350 feet.

"Neither one admitted to racing- that would be kind of hard to prove at this point- that they were racing. In effect ‘drag racing’ is what the Ohio Revised Code calls it, and I don’t have sufficient evidence to say that they were racing or not, both stated that were just being dumb and driving at a high rate of speed," says Wilson.

Trooper Wilson says the men are co-workers. They were both cited for reckless operation. Neither driver was taken to the hospital.
