Sixth Street Bridge closing for repairs
ZANESVILLE Ohio- Some drivers will need to find an alternate route for almost three weeks.
The 6th Street Bridge will be closing for 20 days starting Monday, April 16th. Transportation project engineer Audrey Seals said Ohio Department of Transportation will be replacing the grates and doing patchwork on the bridge’s concrete.
“The current grate is deteriorating and there are patches on the bridges… where the concretes, it was deterring as well so, we’re going to do some patchwork,” said Seals.
Seals said even though drivers will need to find a different route there are several different options to drive. She said ODOT also has a suggested detour.
“The sign local detour is 719 to 60 and then up to 93 or wherever you need to go from there,” said Seals.
Seals said the project is funded by the state and federal dollars, but no city tax dollars are being used.
