Slight Changes Coming to Muskingum Cty. OSU Ext. Program
Some changes are headed to Muskingum County’s OSU Extension Program
Extension Educator Mark Mechling met with County Commissioners Monday morning to discuss the current state of the extension program in the county.
"The state budget cut some pretty significant amounts of local government funds so commissioners are looking toward’s 2012’s budget and trying to make some decisions and I was just providing them with some information with regards to changes that may be occuring with OSU Extension throughout the state," said Mechling.
Some of those changes include commissioners being selective about which programs they want to see continue in the county.
"It appears right now the County Commissioners would like us to continue to offer programming in the ag and natural resources area as well as the 4-h youth development area so we will see some changes but I don’t think we will see a lot of programming changes at this point," said Mechling.
Though all the changes have not been set in stone just yet, they will go into effect under the county’s 2012 operating budget year which begins January 1st.
