Snowy Weather
The threat of snow is once again in the forecast.
While kids won’t be able to break out the sleds and snow boots, it might be a great time to stock up on supplies to help battle winter’s weather. If you’re hoping to melt away the problem it’s a choice between rock salt and snow melt.
"You’re ice melter is more friendly I guess you’d say for your concrete sidewalks. It doesn’t deteriorate the concrete where the rock salt will eat into the concrete," said Manger of the Sunrise Do-It Center Don Miller.
The snow melt also is safer if you have pets. Another item in your arsenal should be a shovel, preferable with a bend in the handle that saves your back.
"You can definitely tell the difference in your back by the time you get done shoveling, especially if it’s a wet snow," said Miller. "You can the difference on your back."
Miller said these shovel are better for older residents who may have to shovel, but it’s always a good idea in most case to have someone shovel for you.
