Soccer Camp with a Professional
It’s not often children get the chance to practice a sport they love with a professional.
But that’s just what one group of Muskingum County children are doing this week. Kolby LaCrone, a former soccer player at Tri-Valley, who is now playing professionally in Cleveland, opened a camp this week for the next group of budding soccer stars.
“For the most part, I’ve been blown away with the talent and the abilities that they already had,” said LaCrone. “I’m just trying to give them the extra insight they need to get to the next level.”
During the week, Kolby’s Kickers practiced different aspects of the game.
“Right now we’re working on anything that simulates the game. Yesterday we worked a lot on defending and how to pressure defenders, how to get in defensive shape behind them, just things they don’t really see much of with their club coaches or at the high school level,” he said.
LaCrone says he had to tweak the layout of the camp because of the skills the campers already had. The last day for his camp is tomorrow.
