ZANESVILLE, OH – The South Zanesville Fire Department made a winner of a local community member.
The fire department partnered with Dutro Auto to give away a brand new 2025 Nissan Rogue Rock Creek SUV to one out of 2,000 ticket holders. The fundraiser raised $20,000 that will go toward purchasing new equipment for the department. The winner of the raffle was Sherry Grimes.
“We decided to do a car the very first raffle off. A lucky local winner won it, and we couldn’t be happier with the response we have gotten from the community,” South Zanesville Fire Chief, Russell Taylor said.
“I never thought I would win. I told myself earlier today that there’s no way I’m going to win, that I’m not that lucky. I figured my son would win it before I would and I guess I was luckier today than he was,” Raffle Winner Sherry Grimes said.
The fire department announced their next raffle will support Shriver’s Hospice and the winner will drive away with a brand-new 2025 Ford-F-150. Tickets are $40 and will continue to be sold until the 2,000 available tickets are sold out.
“We grant wishes for our Shrivers Hospice patients and so whatever wish a patient may have we really try to make that come through. We actually just did a wish this morning at Fink’s Harley Davidson where we had a patient that’s owned Harley’s since he was 15 years old, and he thought that he had taken his last ride, and he was wrong we were able to get him in a side car today with Jim Brown and we were able to make that wish come true for him,” Chief Marketing Officer of Shrives Hospice, Jessica Sabine said.
The fire department also announced another raffle for a new 2025 Harley-Davidson pro glide. Funds will go toward equipment for the fire department and tickets are $28 each. For more information visit South Zanesville Fire Department’s website.
