South Zanesville Fire Department to Host Meat Raffle
ZANESVILLE, OH – The South Zanesville Fire Department is gearing up for an evening full of fun, raffles, and great food.
This Saturday, September 6th, the Fire Department will be hosting a Meat Raffle starting at 6PM at Amrou Grotto.
Chief Russ Taylor says they haven’t hosted a meat raffle in a few months and with winter coming, now is the perfect time to stock your freezers while helping out some good causes.
“The Meat Raffle not only helps us as a Fire Department, it also helps the Grotto.” Chief Taylor said. “They’re struggling with low membership, so this gives them some extra money to pay their eclectic bills, utility bills, it’s just hard times right now.”
Taylor says the proceeds from the Meat Raffle will be split 50/50 between the Fire Department and the Grotto.
He says the Fire Department plans to use the funds to help cover equipment and training costs and the Grotto will use their portion to cover day-to-day operating expenses.
“The cheapest tickets are $2, the highest ticket is $3 until the final table. The final table is $5 a ticket but just remember, each ticket has 2 numbers. So you’ve got two chances, there will be a total of 66 winners in 11 games and then on the final table, it’s $5 a ticket, but you get to go pick out whatever meats you win. So you could win one time, you might win 10 times on the final table.” Taylor said. “We’ve had multiple people walk out with coolers full, several hundred dollars worth of food.”
