South Zanesville Fire Dept. and Prophet Park Hosting Meat Raffle

SOUTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The South Zanesville Fire Department and Prophets Park will be hosting a meat raffle on Saturday. 

The meat raffle includes fresh meat straight from Shirer, cut the day before the raffle. 

The money used from the raffles will contribute to buying equipment and supporting both organizations.

Chief of the South Zanesville Fire Department, Russell Taylor says the raffle will have all types of meat.

“You can come in, there is 11 games and we giving away approximately $2,000 worth of meat. Anything from steak, hams, pork chops, chicken, brats, hot dogs, anything that you can think of, we’ll be giving away that day,” the fire chief told us.

More than 80 people participated at the last meat raffle, and Chief says he hopes to see even more Saturday.

“I hope we 85+, I mean I like to see 100 people show up, we got as many tables and chairs as we need. We can hold 300 people, 300 people show up, we’ll have them all,” he also said.

Doors will open at 6pm on Saturday and the raffle will begin at 7.

Admission is $5 and there will be refreshments provided.
