Southeast Area Transit held annual meeting with Muskingum County Commissioners on Thursday.

The meeting was done virtually and SEAT’s Transit Director Howard Stewart spoke to the commissioners on topics that included transportation concerns, challenges faced and passenger-related data.

Stewart also discussed the success of a new program that began this year called the Work Force Transportation Program.

“That’s when we’re helping individuals get back and forth to work. We’re transporting to over 77 different employers throughout the county. We’ve seen that during COVID there was individuals that weren’t able to pay the fares so we actually lowered the fare for those individuals from $3 down to $2 and we transported in September 1,223 individuals and October 947 individuals,” Stewart said.

SEAT has been enforcing COVID regulations all year like requiring drivers and passengers to wear masks and frequently cleaning the buses.
