Southeastern Ohio Beer and Wine Fest Pops Off with First Annual Pop and Pour Event

DOWNTOWN ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The much anticipated Pop and Pour festival occurred earlier today. This is the first annual occurrence of this new beer and wine festival right in Downtown Zanesville outside of the Secrest Auditorium.
Participants could buy tickets early for $25, or day-of for $30 which included 12 drink tickets. You could redeem one ticket for a 1oz wine sample or two tickets for a 4oz beer sample. Participants also had the opportunity to purchase full pours of any alcoholic beverage that they like. This event served as an opportunity for people to come downtown and try some local delicacies.
“It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, sample some of the regional beverages from local breweries and wineries and have a good time to spend some together on a hot hot summer day,” Brian Wagner, chief executive officer for the Muskingum County Community Foundation stated.
The options included eleven wineries and seven breweries all based in Ohio with food trucks also available. The event being put on by the Muskingum County Community Foundation as a fundraiser for their grant competitions.
“The whole thing is a fundraiser, trying to raise money for our grant competitions. We’ve got the first one coming out here in the fall in a few weeks, then we’ll have our spring grant competition as well,” Wagner said.
