Spaces Launches “Fight to Renew Ohio”

Congressman Zack Space is preparing to move forward with the second phase of Renew Ohio, which launched back in 2008.

He met with area leaders at Ohio University-Zanesville/ Zane State College this morning to discuss what they can expect from the launch of "Fighting to Renew Ohio."

"Now we’re coming back through. We’re looking at what’s worked, what hasn’t worked, highlighting some successes, sharing the secrets of that success with the rest of the region, and continuing this process of trying to position ourselves really at the front of these economic trends, " says Space.

Space says an area the region is excelling in is energy. You can look at an example of this right here in Zanesville with the installation of the Lightmaster.

"That’s obviously an energy field. It’s a business that if we we’re able to attract them to this area, we think we’ll be very successful because they manufacture a product that not only makes energy so much more efficient. It saves the consumer money, " says Space.

There has also been advances in agriculture and healthcare, but Space says one area that really needs attention is broadband. He says companies aren’t finding it profitable to expand cable and Internet lines to isolate homes throughout the region.
