Special Guest Appearance at Zanesville Summer Concert

The Zanesville Summer Concert Series is coming to a close this weekend.

The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band is playing its final show of the season at Zane’s Landing Park Sunday, along with a special guest.

“Our final concert of the year, we’ve always invited in an Ohio born and educated conductor/composer and we’ve had number of them over the years, and this time we really feel privileged to have 1st Lieutenant Ryan J. Nowlin, he is the Assistant Director of the President’s own, United State’s Marine’s Band in Washington D.C,” said Jeff Roquemore, Zanesville Memorial Concert Band Artistic Director.

The band is inviting the public to the banks of the Muskingum for Sunday’s performance, featuring a tribute to past conductors. Roquemore said the band will also play jazz, Broadway and movie-themed favorites.

“We’ve just enjoyed the outdoor concerts at Zane’s Landing Park, the river in the background and it’s just a great family venue, you can sit on a blanket or bring a lawn-chair and just really enjoy the scenery, as well as the music,” Roquemore said.

Beautiful weather is on tap for the weekend, and Roquemore said he hopes the public will come out for another great show.
