The Sports Barber is holding their first ever golf outing in support of veterans.

The outing will take place on July 17th at 9 a.m. at Jaycee’s public golf course in support of the Save A Warrior organization.

“We still need teams to sign up. It’s a four person scramble, $65 per person or $260 a team. We’re going to have closest to the hole, longest put, longest drive competition. There will be a cash payout,” said Mike Deboldt, owner of the Sports Barber.

Jim Sullivan, ambassador for Save A Warrior, said there was a central message he was hoping to get across to participants in the outing.

“Yearly, veterans are losing their lives to something that can be easily solved by conversation. That’s the message that I want to put out to these veterans in this community is that you’re not alone in your thoughts and your emotions when it comes to this suicide epidemic. There’s a lot of people in this community that we serve that suffer from this daily that seem like they have nowhere to go. So I want to put that out there for the people in this community that this organization is here for them,” Sullivan said.
