Spring into Summer Fitness Challenge
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Spring-into-Summer Individual Fitness Challenge is taking place for people to lose weight for the summer.
The Muskingum Recreation Center is holding this eight week individual fitness challenge between May 1, 2017 and June 25, 2017. Exercise Specialist, Mark Paxton said this challenge is open to non-members for $100 and members for $50.
“They get a pre and post individual fitness assessment,” Paxton said. “Which includes muscular strength testing, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility testing, also body fat testing using multiple methods of body fat testing. Then what we do is we give them an orientation and design an exercise prescription specifically based on their individual needs.”
Participants will get free fitness training led by exercise staff, weekly workouts, recipes, and nutrition tips will be available on the Muskingum Recreation Center website.
“The Spring-into-Summer [fitness challenge] is kind of designed like our thinner winter challenge was,” Paxton said. “Except for this one is individually based. So it includes a two month platinum membership to the facility when they sign up. So they can do any of our classes. They can do the lap pool, if they want to do that, they can come up do the weight room, they have access to the gymnasium and also the locker rooms.”
Prizes will be awarded to the male and female with the biggest percent of weight loss, total body fat circumference loss, and most overall weight lost.
Registration for the Spring-into-Summer Individual Fitness Challenge started April 10, 2017 and will end on April 28, 2017. For more information go to the Muskingum Recreation Center’s website, muskrec.org.
