St. Thomas Church Festivities
St. Thomas Church’s annual festival is in full swing this weekend.
The festival has been a community tradition for over 60 years. Folks who went out Friday enjoyed live music, games and a wide array of food, including goodies from local favorites Adornettos and Giacomos. Chairman, Kristen Baughman talked to us about what the festival has in store for the rest of the weekend.
“We have music every night under the tent, so tonight and tomorrow night we have bands,” she said. “Tonight we have Hb7, tomorrow night is a band called Cherry Blonde, so they’re gonna be a lot of fun. We have a lot of children’s games; we have children’s games inside of our gymnasium here that they can go around, there’s ring toss, and darts and lots of fun games.”
Friday’s main attraction was a giant inflatable obstacle course. The course is so big that they even had to close the street down. Festival volunteer, Chris Joseph, said the giant bounce house was also a hit among the kiddos.
“It’s newer and it’s bigger!” Joseph said. “Just come on out, it’s a good time, good people, good food, good music.”
The festivities will continue downtown through Sunday.
