Stabbing investigated in Licking County

NEWARK, Ohio— Newark Police have arrested a Columbus man in connection to a stabbing incident Tuesday evening.

Police said 29-year-old Ray Anthony Ingram was taken into custody and charged with felonious assault in the stabbing of 35-year-old Donald Hurley of Newark.

Investigators said around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Elmwood Avenue on a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found Hurley suffering from a stab wound in the lower back.

Hurley was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he was treated for injuries caused by a hatchet.

Ingram is being held in the Licking County Justice Center.

The case will be forwarded and reviewed by the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office
