Stapleton Sentenced to 15-Years-to-Life

An East Fultonham man will spend 15-years-to-life in prison for sex crimes.

Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court, 57-year-old Bruce Stapleton Senior received his sentence from Judge Kelly Cottrill.

In December, Stapleton pled guilty to two counts of first-degree-felony rape, two counts of third-degree-felony gross sexual imposition and one count of fourth-degree-felony gross sexual imposition. He was originally charged with 36 sex crimes, stemming from incidents between June 2006 and August 2009 involving three juveniles.

In addition to his sentence of 15-years-to-life, Stapleton was also classified as a Tier III sex offender, which means he has to register every 90 days for life.
