Starlight Cafe Grand Opening

Another restaurant in downtown Zanesville is now open for business.

The Starlight Cafe had it’s ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning. The cafe opened inside of the ZBus station on Main Street.

"MAPT, they were looking for somebody to open a restaurant on this side of the building so I contacted the manager and discussions there and here we are about a year later," said Adult Services Director, Larry Wheeler.

Wheeler says they cafe is beneficial for the clients of the adult services program at Starlight Industries, because it provides them with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience.

"The idea hopefully is that we can train some folks here and they can graduate and move on to competitive employment," said Wheeler.

Due to the water line repairs on Main Street, the cafe was without water until about 2 p.m. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch will be open Monday through Friday.
