Stars and Stripes on the River 2015
The annual Stars and Stripes on the River 4th of July celebration kicked off Friday.
The two-day festival started with a bang, complete with live music, food and fun for the entire family. Attendees can expect games, rides and a wide variety of different food for their enjoyment.
Jaycees President Nick Roberts explained, “I think we have a great event this year, we have a lot of vendors coming down, we have two bands tonight, three bands tomorrow that are going to play, we have several rides for the kids, we also have non-profit vendors that have come down to participate.”
The festival will continue through Saturday night, and of course the tradition wouldn’t be complete without the ending fireworks display. Roberts’ told us folks can expect an even bigger show this year.
“This is the first year that we were able to actually put some additional money towards the fireworks, we were able to get some larger donations this year and kinda reach out a little bit further and bring some more money in, which allowed us for a longer and bigger show, it should be great this year,” Roberts said.
The festival is free and open to the public. All proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations.
