Meat Raffle

ZANESVILLE, OH – The South Zanesville Fire Department is gearing up for another meat raffle with Amrou Grotto.

At the raffle there are many chances to win all kinds of prizes ranging from crab legs to steak and ham.

Fire Chief Russell Taylor would like to urge community members to come out and participate.

“Most of our games are only two dollars, the biggest one we have is three dollars and we have a final table at five dollars. On that final table there’s 70-80 different packs of meat and you can win multiple times. Last time we had a lady win eight times for five dollars. So, you have a chance to get a couple hundred dollars’ worth of meat for five bucks.”

The meat raffle typically happens once a month and over 2,000 dollars’ worth of meat will be given out at this one. There are also side raffle opportunities for the chance to win cash prizes and other food items.

“Last month we had it we had 73 people there and we raised good money,” Taylor said. Everybody left happy. It’s a great time.”

Admission is five dollars, and all proceeds are split evenly between The South Zanesville Fire Department and Amrou Grotto. Doors open at 6 o’clock on Saturday and the games will begin around 7p.m.
