Stockport Bank Robbery Investigated

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday noon time bank robbery. Sheriff Tom Jenkins says it happened in Stockport when a 23-year-old male entered the bank, showed a weapon and demanded money. Jenkins says the teller complied with his demand and gave the suspect an undermined amount of money. The robber then fled on foot toward the river. Sheriff Jenkins says within 30 minutes the suspect was in custody and the money and weapon were recovered. The suspect’s name is not yet being released until charges are filed.
