Strickland Sheds Light on Owens-Illinois Investment

Governor Ted Strickland says there are a number of recent investments being made throughout the state of Ohio, one of those is right here in Zanesville.

Owens-Illinois Incorporated will be giving six million dollars to its Zanesville plant, located on South State Street.

"Anytime that kind of investment is made, it will lead to new jobs and greater economic growth, " says Strickland.

The investment involves overseeing and testing a new product that could eventually be distributed.

"Production that is taking place here in Zanesville could have a world reach and worldwide customers. That’s good, " says Strickland.

Around 300 employees currently work at the facility and will play a role in the project.
