Success for Dancing with the Divas

It was another great year for the ‘Dancing with the Divas’ fundraiser.

WHIZ’s own, Phil Sakal put on his dancing shoes to raise money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Dancing Divas, Artistic Director, Trudy Cultice said the celebrities raised an impressive total of $33,000 for charity.

“The celebrities have been very creative in coming up with ideas, so it’s totally grown from what our beginning intention was, never expecting that the celebrities would raise so much money on their own, so it’s been great,” Cultice said.

Cultice said a lot of hard work, time and energy goes into making the show such a success, and she hopes to bring the event back for another year.

“The celebrities were so into the fundraising part of it, and the divas are working so well with their celebrity to not only raise money, but to make it an entertaining show, we had such a great show this year, our dances were so different, we had so many different dance styles, and I think that the celebrities and divas are finally really getting to a point where they know how to work together,” she said.

Cultice said ‘Dancing with the Divas’ differs from other fundraisers in community, because it’s the only event that raises money for a large variety of different charities.
