So we jointly put this on together and for the past few years we’ve held up at the John McIntire Library and welcomed over a thousand people every time that we’ve had this festival it also serves as the summer reading kick-off for the Muskingum County Library system and the John McIntire Library itself. so you can also sign up for summer reading today,” said Sean Fennell, Marketing Media Relations Director for the Muskingum County Library System.
The summer reading program starts today until July 31 and is open to all ages. Raffle prizes and milestone based prizes are offered to motivate the whole family to crack open a book.
“So this event is something that we immediately start planning after it ends this year and we look forward too all year long because it really is the biggest program that happens at the John McIntire Library and summer reading is the biggest program that we have throughout the entire system and it is one way that we are able to help improve literacy and kindergarten readiness and school readiness within our community as well and and just bring the base line of a love of reading and learning to our community, ” said Fennell.
