Suspect in Pursuit Arrested

COSHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio–Authorities in Coshocton County said a suspect is in custody following a pursuit Friday afternoon.
According to the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, just before 12:30 p.m., they received a report of a pursuit that started in Newark was heading towards Coshocton County on State Route 16.
Deputies responded to the area and were able to deploy stop sticks, flattening the front driver tire of the fleeing vehicle. The pursuit continued for a few more miles before the vehicle became disabled.
Authorities said the suspect then fled the vehicle on foot and into a corn field where he was apprehended by a Newark PD K9.
The suspect was treated and released at the scene and then taken to Licking Memorial Hospital.
The suspect’s name is being withheld pending filing of formal charges by Newark PD.
