Suspect on the Loose in Zanesville
A man wanted in connection to a robbery and various other offenses could be on the loose in Zanesville.
Lt. Bill Shaw of the Zanesville Police Department says they’re on the lookout for 26-year-old Jason Austin, of Lancaster.
He’s described as a white male, 6’0 with blond hair and blue eyes. He’s believed to have his head shaved or a very short hair cut.
Just after 12:30 Thursday morning Lt. Shaw says Cambridge Police and the State Highway Patrol chased a stolen vehicle, believed to be driven by Austin, into Zanesville City limits.
The car was found by ZPD on Grant St. abandoned.
K-9 Paco tracked the suspect to the area of Green Street and Greenwood Avenue where the trail was lost.
Austin has a past history of escape from jail in Nelsonville and is considered dangerous.
