Suspects in Fatal Stabbing Arraigned

Four people charged in connection with last month’s fatal stabbing of a Newark man appeared in court Tuesday for an arraignment hearing.

20-year-old Jason Stone, 33-year-old William Snyder, 45-year-old William Withem and 29-year-old Beth Doty all plead not guilty Tuesday in Licking County Common Pleas.

They were indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder and aggravated burglary, in the death of 25-year-old John Stouffer.

Authorities say Stouffer was found dead in a rooming house on Harrison Street, August 24.

Stone’s bond was continued at $1,000,000.

The other three suspects bonds were continued at $750,000.
