Take Me Out to the Ballgame

The Clippers want to take Zanesville fans out to the ballpark this May.

When the team takes on the Pawtucket Red Sox on Friday May 20th the team wants everyone in town to be there for Zanesville night.

"The Clippers want to make their home part of the Zanesville community. This is a great opportunity to invite a city like Zanesville," said Assistant Director of Group Sales Barry Keck.

Between innings they’ll be activities featuring Zanesville residents, businesses being recognized and a highlight of area attractions. Cassandra McDonald will sing the National Anthem.

"It brings us together and it brings excitement and exhilaration in the air anytime you have something of this magnitude," said McDonald.

Mayor Zwelling who once tried out for a walk on pitching position with Ohio State will throw out the first pitch.

"There’s still a little bit left in this arm," said the mayor. "I may not go clear back to the pitchers rubber. I don’t think people expect it. But, I do think that the catcher should have all kinds of padding in his glove. I plan to throw it well."

Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Columbus Clippers at (740) 462-2757 or by fax at (614) 462-3271. You can also visit all Zanesville Wendy’s locations for ticket order forms.

Any businesses that wish to be recognized can also call the Clippers.
