Tarbert Beats Fellow Republican Derrick Moorehead in Primary
The race for Zanesville City Law Director is down to two candidates.
David Tarbert beat fellow republican Derrick Moorehead in Tuesday’s Republican Primary and in November will face incumbent Scott Hillis. Tarbert said a lot of hard work went into the win.
"Well, we’re extremely excited. I mean it was a tough campaign. It’s been a long campaign for a city election in a primary race, but we are extremely excited and are very very thankful to all the voters who came out and supported us."
Tarbert states he has many individuals that he would like to thank including his law firm, Kincade Taylor & Geyer, his campaign adviser and communications director, the endorsement of the FOP and ZPD. He would also like to thank those who helped him distribute and collect signs and supporters that went door to door for him. Tarbert especially wanted to thank his family.
"Especially to my wife and our three kids. Without their support. You know, my wife Emily did all the scheduling and so much more but really kept us on track as to where we needed to go and everything else and the kids. I can’t imagine how many doors, hundreds of doors all three of my kids knocked on with me so it was a lot of fun spending that time with them and showing them really what public service is about."
Tarbert told us going forward they are going to take some time off to relax and re-group then gear up once more for their campaign in November.
