Teams Put Aside Rivalry To Raise Money

Two football teams are putting their rivalry aside to raise money for their teams.

The South Rebels and Northwest Tornadoes held their first Fall Festival at the tornado’s football field by OUZ. Both teams are part of Muskingum County Biddy Football League.

“Northwest Tornadoes and South Rebels Biddy League Football are coming together for a Fall Fest, we are trying to earn money to keep our teams running with uniforms and our banquet,” says Heidi McPeak, a team representative for South Rebels.

This is the first year the two teams put on a Fall Fest. Families could enjoy a bounce house, lots of food, prizes and a silent auction. For team members the highlight of the day was pieing their coaches in the face!

“If we don’t have the fundraisers then we don’t really have a team. We have to buy all the important things to keep safety, such as the helmets and the shoulder pads and make sure they all look good and are safe,” says organizer, Rae Anne Jasper.

Organizers say any money they make is a plus, because win or lose their teams are in this together.
