Terrence C. “Terry” Zahn (April 6, 1936 – March 15, 2011)

Terrence C. “Terry” Zahn, 74 of Zanesville died 6:15 AM Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan ER in Zanesville following a long illness.

He was born Monday, April 06, 1936 in Lafayette, IN the son of Powers D. Zahn and Helen (Childs) Zahn Shoemaker. He married Delsie K. ( Dalton ) Zahn at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Lafayette, Indiana on June 1, 1958.

Terry graduated from the Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1954, attended Hiram College in Hiram Ohio, and graduated from The School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. He previously served as plant manager and Vice President for the Nelson McCoy Pottery prior to starting his own business. He co-owned the Friendship Pottery in Roseville, Ohio for 25 years with his friend and business partner Frank Rossi. Terry was a member of St. James Episcopal Church where he was active for many years, a life member of the Mooresville Lodge #78 Indiana Freemasons, a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis 32nd Degree Masons, a member of the Zanesville Country Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Sandusky Yacht Club, American Ceramic Society, and a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association.

Terry is survived by his wife of the home, three children Robin (Jim) Zahn Lumadue of Encinitas, CA, Gail (Mike) Zahn Troupe of Waterloo, IL and Terrence “Ted” (Jennifer) Zahn of Rockwall, TX; Four Grandchildren Nicole Troupe, Megan (Seth) Troupe Fankhauser, Emily Lumadue, and Jacqueline Lumadue; a sister Marilynn Zahn Smith of Palmetto, FL., a sister-in-law Eleanor Z. Zahn of Milwaukee , WI. A sister-in-law Beverly (Dr. Charles E. ) Bush of Kirklin, IN. Three neices and nephews Terry Lynn Frank, Cindy Rieke, Marilynn Jo Beaty, Jack Terry Zahn, Douglas Zahn, Bruce Zahn. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother Jack P. Zahn, a brother-in-law Gordon Smith and a nephew Robert S. Zahn.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8pm Friday, March 18th at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. James Episcopal Church, 155 North Sixth Street, Zanesville, OH with Fr. Robert Willmann officiating. Inurnment will conclude at a later date in the Church columbarium. Memorial contributions can be made to one of the following organizations in Terry’s memory.
