Terry’s Tavern Riverfest 2016

Terry's Tavern Riverfest 2016

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Dozens gathered to Terry’s Tavern on Saturday, July 9th, to celebrate Riverfest 2016.

The objective of the event is to help raise money to help keep the Muskingum River clean, navigational, and to reduce safety hazards.

“We had a great turn out, a lot of sponsors throughout the community and businesses came out today,” said Jake Creeks, President of the Muskingum Riverway Advocacy Council (MRAC).

Creeks said that they had quite a few people decorate their boats in Christmas decorations for their Christmas in July boat parade.

“We also had a silent auction, half and half raffle prizes, and lots of food for all who came out today.”

Creeks said that they had about 27 boats docked outside of Terry’s Tavern. “I believe that’s the most Terry’s Tavern has ever had tied up to their docks before.”

He also said that he’s extremely thankful for everybody that’s apart of MRAC, the support from the Muskingum Watershed Conservacy District, and those who came out to help raise money to help keep the river clean.
