The 4th Of July Fireworks Show Kicks Off Monday!

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Organizers are working hard to ensure the 4th of July fireworks show in downtown Zanesville is one to remember.

Stephen Vincent, the Pyrotechnician of Record for the show has been setting off fireworks for over two decades. Vincent said this year the fireworks have moved to the middle of the Y-Bridge for safety purposes.

"Part of the reason we switched to the Y-Bridge is safety. You have to have a 7-foot circumference for every inch diameter shell that you shoot in the air. The largest shell that we’re shooting is a 6 inch shell. We have to have 420 feet circumference for that 6 inch shell. The middle of the y-bridge gives us that," said Vincent.

Vincent said if you want to see the firework display you should be in place by 9 p.m to get a good location. He also said take caution to the road closures and traffic as you head to the holiday festivities.

"East end, East Main Street of the Y-Bridge will be closed off at 8 o’clock. If you’re coming from the Pine St. or the west side you need to come in, go up and across Doug Rd. and that will get you to the downtown area," said Vincent.

The fireworks display begins at 9:45 p-m on Monday.
