The Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of The Week: Storm

ZANESVILLE, OH- This week at the Animal Shelter Society, a puppy with a lot of love is ready to find their forever home.

Say hello to Storm! He is a 5-month-old Husky Shepard mix with a lot of energy that would work well with any home.

“He doesn’t seem to have an issue with any other dogs or people, he just loves life, he would be a great companion for folks, I think it would work with any age group or with children, there doesn’t seem to be any issues with him there, he’s probably going to be a medium sized dog, you know pretty comfortable size for folks, you know we like our animals to be able to run or make sure you’re going to take them on walks or something of that nature but he’s going to have some energy to burn so just be prepared for that,” said the Animal Shelter Society Executive Director April Gibson.

With the 4th of July coming up it is important to know how to keep your animals comfortable and safe. The Animal Shelter Society will not be doing any adoptions on the 4th of July or the weekend following the 4th to ensure the animals can have a low stress weekend.

“Five of the animals that came in we were able to find them back to their homes because they had microchips, we’re offering a special up until July 3rd, 10 dollars for a microchip and a gallon of liquid laundry detergent, it doesn’t matter the brand as long as it’s liquid, that’s the quickest way we can get them back because what’s going to happen is these animals are going to take off, especially the big thing is while they’re an inside animal, well when they’re that scared and they hear the booms and see all of the lights, it’s just like lightning and thunder, it’s a big situation for them,” said Gibson.
