The Civic League Community Center Hosts Annual 'community Day'

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Civic League Community Center hosted its Annual ‘Community Day’ event on Saturday.

The festivities kicked off at 10 a.m and went on until 5 p.m. The entire community was invited out to enjoy good food, games and socialize with member in the community. Executive Director, Lisa Rooks said this is one of their major fundraisers.

"To me, I love to see kids have fun and have them want things because, they will also get prizes and tickets today. Just to see the kids face, that’s what makes a difference," said Rooks.

Program Coordinator, Adonis Brooks said with this event they hope to bring the community back to the way things were done traditionally, before electronics.

"It’s nice to see the community with the new generation and everybody being so attached to social media this is a way to get away from that distinguish you from social media and from the technology. This is a way for you to interact and be active with your community without a phone and tablets and stuff like that," said Brooks.

The next event held at the Civic Center is will be their wrestling tournament on July 22th. You can purchase tickets for $10 each at their address: 928 Jackson St, Zanesville, Oh 43701.
