The Lima Company Memorial

The community is invited to memorialize the fallen soldiers of the war in Iraq this weekend.

Artist, Anita Miller, creator of the Lima Company Memorial Exhibit at the Secrest Auditorium will unviel her newest painting. The collection currently features eight life sized paintings of 22 fallen Marines and Navy Corpsman.

"This Saturday we’re going to have the unveiling of the Brad Harper portrait and that will start here at 7 o’clock," said Manager of Secrest Auditorium, John Kunkle.

On Sunday, at Zane Landing Park, the Memorial Concert Band will be performing a specially written song called, "Purple Heart", in honor of one of the fallen soldiers, Michael Cifuentes.

"Exactly what you see here is what she dreamnt, the panels in an octogon formation with 23 as of right now immortalized, three more will be added sunday," said Kunkle.

If you are unable to attend this weekend, the exhibit will be on display at the Secrest Auditorium until August 15th.
