The Ohio State Parks Photo Contest

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is inviting all photography enthusiasts and nature lovers to participate in a photo contest aimed at showcasing the beauty of Ohio’s State parks.

If you have a passion for capturing moments, scenic views, or wildlife through your lens, this is the perfect opportunity to show off your photography skills and share your adventures. You must be 18 years or older to enter the contest. All photos must be submitted by May 3rd.

“The five categories are Parks and People, Scenic Landscapes, Wildlife Wonders, Adventurers Unbound, and Historic Horizons. For four of the five categories, you need to submit photos that were taken from January 1st, 2023, through current. For Historical Horizons, we want your old photos. The crazier the clothes, the better. If it’s black and white that’s fine. We really want to see the memories you’ve created over the years for that category,” ODNR Public Information Officer Dave Parsons said.

Awards will be given for first, second, and third places, plus a special People’s Choice award. Winners will be announced in June.

“For me, the great thing about this is seeing all the great memories that people have captured. I love the landscapes and people. Everybody has a different eye when they take their photos, and sometimes, you catch really unique things. For me personally, it’s really fun to see what people capture,” Parsons said.
