ZANESVILLE, OH – A local theater company is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their upcoming production.

The Renner Theater is getting ready for opening night of Hood, The Musical on Thursday March 13th.

Andie Schmitt, who plays Maid Marian, said this musical is an adaptation of the beloved story of Robin Hood but with some 80’s style music thrown in between.

“It’s definitely more fun for maybe the older generation, the newer ones may not completely get the vibe.” Schmitt said. “But yea we are really enjoying it.”

Lee Hoover, who plays the Sheriff of Nottingham, said there’s something for just about everyone in this production.

He also said it’s been a great time getting to work with his son, who will be playing Robin Hood, and daughter on this production.

“It’s got a lot in it, it’s got something for everyone really.” Hoover said. “If you like fighting, it’s got fighting, if you like dancing, it’s got dancing, if you like singing, it’s got singing, if you like silly humor, then it’s got that too. It’s got good versus evil, really a good show for the whole family I would say. “

Tickets for Hood, The Musical are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and children 12 and under are $5.

The show days and times are:
