The Renner Theater Presents “The Little Mermaid”
ZANESVILLE, OH – A local theater is inviting the community to take a trip under the sea.
The Renner Theater opened their production of the Little Mermaid this past weekend, with many more upcoming opportunities to see the show.
Allie Norman, who plays Ariel and Aquata, says no two shows are the same.
“Every weekend there is a whole new cast. I’m Ariel and Aquata and Reese is also Ariel when I’m Aquata, then she’s Aquata when I’m Ariel,” Norman explained. “We have Skuttle double casted, we have the Chef triple casted, Ursula is double casted, there’s quite a few mersisters that are double casted. So every night you go, it’s like a whole new cast, it’s never the same people every night.”
This show is an interactive experience for the audience. Norman says there will be flashing lights, bubbles, and cast members dancing in the aisles.
She also says for many of the cast members, this is their very first production.
“Most of our cast, this is their first ever show and you can’t even tell, to be honest,” Norman said. “Because the veterans and the people that are brand new, I mean, it’s pretty much an even playing field, you can’t even tell a difference because everyone is so talented in this cast.”
If you are interested in seeing “The Little Mermaid” the upcoming show dates are June 14th and 15th at 8PM and June 16th at 2:30PM.
